How do you know if your paper, catalog or brochure is recyclable? Is there a layer of laminate?
The easiest way to tell if your paper is recyclable, is to tear it up. Papers that are recyclable should have a smooth tear. Papers that are not recyclable are usually difficult to tear, and may crumple before the tear. There will also be a visible plastic coating that is not recyclable and considered as a contaminant.
Non-recyclable papers with plastic laminates are commonly found in items like; namecards, catalogs and magazine covers.
